Manicure is not about painting nails. Manicure is the art of nail care, which makes your hands your trademark. A correct and regular manicure guarantees beautiful and well-groomed nails.
The first step in your strive to have beautiful hands is to remove the old nail polish - every manicure should start with that. You should use acetone-free nail polish remover. It is much more gentle for the nail plate. It is also worth using remover that is enriched with vitamins and oils, as they can improve the quality of the nail plate.
The second step is to file your nails. Use a paper file, which will not split your nails. Shorten your nails and file them on the sides, thanks to which they will look longer. Next, use a glass or ceramic file to close the nail plate, in order to remove the split parts and smooth the plate out.
The next stage is to cut out the cuticles. To make it easier, apply cuticle softening fluid on them. If you do not have it, you can also use a mixture of water and oil - soak your hands for several minutes. Next, gently push the cuticles back and cut the excess with nippers. Make sure not to cut too deeply, as you can damage the nail bed. After cutting out all the cuticles oil your nails again with cream or oil.
The final step is to paint your nails. Before you start, you have to remove the oil or cream that is on your nails. Wipe it off with a swab soaked with nail polish remover. Next apply the base coat. Finally, use the nail polish in your favourite colour. Remember to put two layers - the colour will be uniform then. You can also apply the top coat on the painted nails, which will harden the nail polish and add gloss to your nails.
